When an Awesome Mister came to Ontario, straight from the 1992 AQHA World show, with an impressive record of both halter and Western Pleasure wins (he had won the 3 Year Old Western Pleasure at the Congress and was a Hoalter win at past AQHA World Shows) it was a major plus for Ontario's Quarter Horse industry.
Standing at Dave and Judy Hickey's Heritage Farm, beginning with the 1993 season, the attractive young stallion started making his mark on the industry with his first foal crop shen his babies hit the ground winning, first in Halter, then longe Line and then Western Pleasure and Hunter Under Saddle.
As their reputaion spread they began to make some marks, this time in the area of sales. At the 1997AQHA World Show Sale, In The Awes9ome Zone grought $41,500 US. MacAwesome topped the 1998 AQHA World Show Sale at $77,000 US and Zippopotamus, a well bred broodmare, in foal to An Awesome Mister, was purchased for $125,000 US at the 1998 Congress Sale, which was an all time high price for this Sale.
Appaloosas bred and raised by Don Healey of Janetville, Ontario such as Awesome Twist, a 1998 filly, who was undefeated at Longe Line, winning both Open and Amateur Longe Line at the Appaloosa World Show and an Awesome Lady (APP) a Longe Line Champion in 1997 was also the 1998 World Champion Ap PHA Limited Two Year Old Snaffle Bit horse, took his influence into another brood.
An Awesome Mister, himself, became a record seller when he sold for $227,000 US at the World show Sale in 1998. He was purchased by a group and will stand the 2000 breeding season at Tallen Quarter Horses, Aubrey, Texas.        Following his well known father, Just Plain Awesome is als He won big at the Ontario Quarter Horse Association Breeders' Futurity, ending his futurity years as the Hi Point Saddle Winner. Interestingly enough, his full sister An Awesome Lady attained this same award in 1999.
In 1998, as a 4 year old, the 15.2 hand, bay N/N stallion finished his show career, to date, with awards such as the OQHA Hi oint Jr. Western Pleasure Horse, OQHA High Point Aged Stallion and he received a Superior western Pleasure Award from AQHA.
Just Plain Awesome is out of Wave of Cash, by Cash Commander and, like his dam and her sire, he was bred, reaised and is proudly owned by George Laidlaw of Chatham, Ontario.o making a mark through his progeny.
Even though the last foal crop from his tenure as an Ontario based stallion will arrive this spring, the legacy of excellence continues.             One shining example of this heritae is Just Plain Awesome.
Just Plain Awesome is a Halter, Longe Line and Western leasure winner.
Right from his first foal crop, in 1998, his get have placed very well at the OQHA Breeders' Futurity, first in Halter and then in Longe Line.
Even with his oldest get just being yearlings, Just Plain Awesome was the Sire of Excellence Winner at the 1999 Mid-West Futurama and it's notable that his get are winning at both Halter and Longe line insome major competitions
Just About Awesome, a 1998 Bay gelding by Just Plain Awesome, out of Ivory Jet Straw, is one of these winning offspring.
A multiple Halter winner at both Furturity and AQHA competitions, in both Canada and the U.S., he has been a very successful competitor in Longe Line classes with an exceptional number of wins in this popular event.

Just Plain Awesome
Just About Awesome is expected to be a major contestant in this year's big 2 Year Old Pleasure futurities and AQHA competitions.
As for his dady, Just Plain Awesome's third foal crop will be on the ground this spring and he's standing the 2000 breeding season at Gord Wadds Quarter Horses in Ovid, Michigan with shipped semen available.

The "Awesome" legacy of excellence is quite obviously continuing and it will be interesting to watch the process at the quarter Horse futurities and shows over the next few years.
